Bright Star (2009)

The drama based on the three-year romance between 19th century poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne, which was cut short by Keats' untimely death at age 25. 

Brilliant! Describes part of the life of the poet John Keats. I confess that when I watch the movie I didn't have any ideia of who was Keats. The movie was amazing, the poems, the romance and of course drama. I loved it!

Pride and Prejudice (2005)

Sparks fly when spirited Elizabeth Bennet meets single, rich, and proud Mr. Darcy. But Mr. Darcy reluctantly finds himself falling in love with a woman beneath his class. Can each overcome their own pride and prejudice?


Everyone who heard about Jane Austen also heard about Pride and Prejudice. This movie is a remake, I don't know, but in my opinion this one is the best. If you love love stories, you know: wacth Pride and Prejudice.

Sweet November (2001)

Nelson is a man devoted to his advertising career in San Francisco. One day, while taking a driving test at the DMV, he meets Sara. She is very different from the other women in his life. Nelson causes her to miss out on taking the test and later that day she tracks him down. One thing leads to another and Nelson ends up living with her through a November that will change his life forever.

Perfect! What can I say? The romance, the drama... Perfect!

The Lake House (2006)

Well, the fantasy made the romance and the drama even better. Want more? Wacth the movie! It was great!

I'm not a big fan of history, but what can I say? This movie caught my attention and I love it, you must watch.

Birth (2004)

Drama|Mistery|Romance

Anna loses her husband Sean and after a few years of suffering she finally moves on. When everything seems good enough, she meets a young boy who says he’s Sean reincarnated and makes her start wondering the choices she has made.

This movie, THIS MOVIE, I gotta say, fooled me and fooled me because I had to wait until the end of the movie to figure out the real truth. First, I couldn’t believe the kid was Sean, then I started to believe, but then I doubted again, on and on. But that’s what made me like this movie so much. Great performances, great story, great movie. 

Nights in Rodanthe (2008)

Drama|Romance

“Nights In Rodanthe” speaks of the love story of two 50 years old man and woman who fall in love in a weekend. When a major storm is forecast, Paul helps Adrienne with the inn and with her self-steem while the two make love. That’s when both give up and give love another shot.

Adrienne and Paul have to detach but letters are read and written and love grows with the distance. When was least expected a death torns them apart but love is never lost.

I read the book first (by Nicholas Sparks) and even though I preferred the book version, I think this movie is a beautiful dedication to love and shows that passion can be lived in any age. 

Rabbit Hole (2010)

 “Rabbit Hole” is a story of a couple whose little son is killed in a car accident. This accident changes the two parents’ life and the movie shows you how they live after the tragedy. When Howie remembers his kid through phone videos, Becca keeps her son’s things in the same place as the last time he touched them. Where the place of happiness can’t be found in Becca and Howie’s hearts, there are fights and ways of mourning that cannot be understood by each other.

I’m a HUGE fan of Nicole’s and this is my favorite movie of hers. She was nominated in 2011 for “Best Actress In A Main Role” in the 83^rd Academy Award. It’s a magnificent performance of Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart in the role of two broken-hearted parents. Amazing!

Serendipity (2001)

“Serendipity” means the accident of finding something good without looking for it.The movie “Serendipity” is about an English girl that when she finds the man of her life starts testing the destiny of their love to make sure that they are meant to be. He, on the other hand, is pretty sure they have to stick together forever.Through adventures that will make you laugh and cry, destiny ends up joining the two lovebirds. 


This movie is my favorite of them all. It’s not an Academy Award Winner, neither of the actors are Academy Award Winners, but I like it so, so much because it’s a great story, it’s beautiful, it’s passionate, it’s the reason why I watch romance movies. It’s in the way Sara and Jonathan love each other, it’s in the way Kate and John interact. This is a MUST! Gotta watch it if you haven’t yet ;p

The Bodyguard (1992)

Everyone knows, now more than ever after the great Whitney Houston death, the story of the music star whose life was being threatened and hires a very handsome bodyguard who does everything to keep her safe. The two fall in love and live a short but intense love story that ends up in a airfield goodbye with Whitney’s biggest hit “I Will Always Love You”.

It’s a indescribable feeling when you’re watching this movie. It’s one of the best, for sure. 

Underworld (2003)

Action|Fantasy| Thriller

“Underworld” is the best action saga of movies of all! First, because the story is absolutely amazing (I’m talking about the love story between Selene and Michael and the whole fight between vampires and Lycans) and of course because the main character is a woman who plays with guns (I think we, women, all wanted to be like of a super hero who kills men ;p).

I think I can’t really choose one of the four movies of this wonderful saga… If you’re a lover as I am of “Underworld” you may feel the same way as I do. And there are good news: it’s thought to be a fifth movie. Nothing’s confirmed yet.
